@BKCaribBaby: they send them to my email all the time! For example, the current one is MDWKFD169 and should expire in a couple of days. I'm not sure if you have to use Fresh Direct a few times before they start sending them or not.

@plantains: Yeah, I'm noticing they have a lot more on sale items.

But they also have a higher minimum; if I don't ordero ver $100 I don't get ALL the fees waived, whereas I think Fresh Direct has a super low minimum.

@plantains: Oo, love that you keep getting coupons so you never! I actually wouldn't really buy produce/meat anyway... It's def really interesting as I'm on both sites comparing stuff!

@snowjewelz: I use both PeaPod and Fresh Direct a lot and I actually find that if you can figure out a way to use both you should be covered. Fresh Direct has much better produce and a wide variety plus the quality of meat and fish is superior. Fresh Direct also sends out a code for free delivery at least once a week so I have never actually paid any delivery fees.

PeaPod has good sales and is better for canned goods etc but doesn't have as many free codes plus teh meat and fish just doesn't compare to Fresh Direct. If you navigate both sites carefully, you don't have to spend a ton of money. For example Organic milk is 3.79 from Fresh Direct if you buy their own brand. I would place it on par with Whole Foods 365 for value and PeaPod can't beat that price...yet.

yesssss!! i started recently because with school and work and helping my parents out, i just don't have time to shop & i HATE carrying all the groceries up the stairs to the apartment. peapod (at least around here) gives you $6 off for wednesday deliveries if you order by monday night and i have free delivery for 60 days, so it ends up saving me money! and i got $20 off my first order, wooooohooooo! best day ever! the only thing that was annoying was that they were out of the organic free range eggs i ordered and instead of sending other eggs, i just didn't get any and i needed them for something i was making. i like buying a lot of my produce at the farmers market anyway. i love it, even though i'm not a stop & shop fan.

Yes. For me, it's about time and convenience. It saves time. I can do an order throughout the day and think about meal planning. The groceries get delivered to my doorstep. I don't always get the produce, but being busy has made me get over that. Also I don't have to schlep groceries in bad weather since we have no car.

@snowjewelz: I would! There are pros/cons for delivery too - I think FreshDirect has a lower amount for delivery but also different prices between the two. I like that I can shop JUST PeaPod sales (specials) and can pick a delivery time that offers a discounted rate.

I only used Peapod once like 8 years ago... but for me, I don't think I would because I'm picky and need to choose my own produce! I thought that the produce that Peapod sent looked smaller than the ones I would choose.

I use PeaPod ALLLLL the time!! I've only used Fresh Direct once. I like PeaPod because they have more sales and better prices on shelf-stable items. FreshDirect is good for organic or specialty meats/produce/etc.

I agree with @lavender: cons. It happens kinda infrequently for me though (substitutes or out of stock items).

@snowjewelz: I remember one week they didn't have the organic milk I choose, so instead of just giving me reg milk they gave me nothing. So annoying.

I didn't do a delivery service, but did the Peapod pickup. It was a bit more costly than going into a physical store but well worth it when I have both girls. However, they are now charging for the pickup service so I am back to stepping foot into a store, as I am not willing to pay more for groceries and a pickup fee.

Pros: no mindless shopping and not having to go into a store. I was able to stick to a list!
Cons: When they are out of stock on certain items and don't have a substitute. I meal plan and if something is out of stock, it throws that meal out of whack.

What's the advantage for you, and do you like it?

Since being diagnoised w/ GD I find myself needing to grocery shop all the time and be very careful about what I buy & eat...

Both Peapod & FreshDirect have free trials, and it's so easy for me to be able to read the nutrition label online to order what's good for me! The only downside is that the selection is not as big and not many sales (for the items I want).

Do you find that you save much less w/ the delivery service?
