I would talk to a doctor about taking bio-identical progesterone (like prometrium).

Birth control is full of synthetic hormones that your body sort of doesn't know what to do with. Most times, when women are treated for progesterone deficiencies in pregnancy or when TTC, doctors that have researched Progesterone will chose bio-identical forms of progesterone.

In general, not a lot of weight is given to the cream (in research. because you're only getting a small amount and it's hard to dose it). But having your progesterone tested to see where it is and monitored while taking bio-identical progesterone is a real thing. It can help with PMS, PPA, and all sorts of things.

It's definitely a thing! It's also helped increase sex drive for a few of my friends. (I personally have not used it but have heard great things from my friends.)

My PMS is so much worse now that Ive had two children. Mostly mood issues. I was googling today and saw a few semi reputable websites recommend progesterone cream. Have you tried this? I typically am not into natural medicine, etc., but this was compelling. However I dislike hormonal BC because of the side effects so I'm a little reluctant to monkey around with my hormones in any way. I especially disliked depo provera.

Is progesterone cream for PMS a thing? Or just snake oil?
