Less expensive than bottled water and makes the tap water taste better (though I know the tap water is probably fine, it just tastes yucky). I never boiled municipal water while living in the US. There's enough chlorine in it to kill whatever needs to be killed and if they're not using chlorine, the UV process does the job too. I use a Brita at home, our water has a lot of calcium in it, so that helps. Just read a blurb today about how the consumption of bottled water has lead to an increase in dental problems in children. I'm considering getting a water filter of some sort, and then boiling that water to make tea. Do you use a water filter? What type of water do you give your LO?
