Ha! No. We moved in 7 months ago (ok - that is not sounding like a great excuse anymore), but the den has a couch, a computer and the piano. I've used the piano a few times. Also, the one-day-will-be-a-nursery is just a junk room right now. Definitely don't use the whole house, but I imagine one day we will be wanting more space and we'll be dreaming about these days.

It's just the two of us humans + two dogs, so there's a lot of generally unused space in our house. We have three extra bedrooms we only use when my family comes to visit (although one is decorated as an office - but we never use it as that either...). My husband runs on the treadmill in the basement every morning and we occasionally watch a movie down there (bigger tv) but that's it. Mostly we stick to the kitchen/dining room, living room and bedroom.

Our house is small, but we have two bedrooms and two bathrooms for just the two of us. DH uses the guest bathroom, and the closet in the guest room, but it's not as if he spends a lot of time in there. Ostensibly it's his "office" - he has a desk in there and a little TV - but he mostly works downstairs in the living room.

In our new house, we still have an open floor plan downstairs, but the dining area is more separate. I want to make a conscious effort to continue eating at the table in the "dining room" when we move!

@Minnie_Girl: You'll be surprised how fast 2500 square feet gets used up! We doubled our square footage when we moved, and yet it still seems like we don't have enough space. Of course we did add 2 kids to the mix too :)

I think we use most of our rooms. We don't use our dining room much for its intended purpose by the kids play in there as the living room spills into it.

Nope. We have 3 bedrooms (and a full bath and sunroom ) upstairs that rarely get used unless we have guests. That will change, however, when butterbean arrives. :) We also rarely use the dining room or breakfast nook now that I think about it.

There's no such thing as unused space in our house lol. We have a 1300 sq ft twin, 4 bedrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen. Of the 4 bedrooms one is ours and two belong to my stepchildren. The fourth one houses my books and acts as a guest bedroom when needed (nursery some day? :3). The living room doubles as our office and the dining room houses three dog crates.

We have three bedrooms. One is the master, one is my bil's, and one is the guest room. The guest room barely gets used. It stays closed off 90% of the time. I do use the closet for storage.

We do a decent job of using most of our house well but the living room and a small sun room off of it don't get used much right now but to be honest there isn't really any furniture in either room so it makes it hard to use them!

Our kitchen has room for two stools at the island but otherwise no room for a table so our dining room is used a lot which I love. We also don't have a family room so our living room will serve as both eventually. A house where we would use it all was important to me when we were looking so I am glad we met those goals.

We're currently in an apartment and it's necessary to use every nook and cranny to its fullest potential.

We just put in an offer on a house, so hopefully by July we'll have unused space galore! 2500 finished square feet PLUS a basement and half an acre of land....ahhhhhh. I'm looking forward to using all of that wonderful space!

lol at the moment, definitely not. We just moved in about a month ago and still need to paint and get things on the wall before we are even fully unpacked. We have a family/reading room that's nowhere near done (even though most of the final furniture is in there), and our office is just kinda *there* right now. And obv the baby's room isn't being used to its fullest potential yet :)

Nope. Our second bedroom is basically being used as my giant shoe and coat closet right now. It also houses all our books, but I really only go in there for shoes and coats. Once we move I think every room in our new place will be well utilized, though.

Our three bedrooms have changed in function dramatically in the one year we've lived there. The master has stayed the same, but the guest bedrooms have changed from one being an office and the other being a guest room...and now the old office has been turned into the guest room and the former guest bedroom is slowly becoming the nursery.

1st floor our living room/dining room is open concept - both get used a lot esp since we eat most meals in the dining room - no eat in kitchen, Kitchen gets used alot.

Basement - storage, laundry, messy projects but we don't spend much time there... eventually it will be the office when we finish it.

Upstairs - bathroom, our room, office, and spare room all get used esp since spare room is were my wardrobe is kept.

We just bought a cape cod style house, so the upstairs has a den and 3rd bedroom. We don't plan on using that yet though. On the main level we have 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. So that will be our main living area. We bought the bigger house though because we knew that we would be having chilren in this house. We bought it trying to be prepared for the future. :-) So no, right now we are not utilizing all of our space, but that is ok at the moment!

We really do use every single room in our house. The dining room is reserved for company but we use it for storing alcohol and wine glasses, so it definitely gets used for those items! For such a large house, I'm happy we use all the rooms. Makes me feel like we are getting our money's worth. :)
