I use a wooden spoon to reach my coffee mug on the top shelf, but that isn't what you meant!!

I have an antique wooden ironing board that I use as a plant stand, wine barrels for planters and that's about all.

@artbee: I thrift occassionally and have bought huge coffee mug/saucer combos and use that for small indoor plants around the house.

I love the look of things that aren't meant for that purpose. Like putting a plant in an antique colander, a ladder as a plant stand, or breaking old dishes for mosaics. My friend recently made a wine bottle border for her plants... which is very fun but I'm not a wine person so it's not me. All I really have now is a teeny tiny kids bench in LO's room that I'm using as her bookshelf.

Do you have any creative uses for things?
