I always get the plastic bags and use them around my house. I try to keep them in my car and I usually use them when I shop. Hubby usually doesn't, though. I also don't use them always when it's a HUGE shopping trip at the grocery store, because them I'm using the regular check-out lines and it's a pain when the employees bag with my reusable. But since I usually shop once a week, it's a pretty small load, so I self-check-out, and use my reusable bags. Do you guys like the cotton tote bags or the light weight see through-ish material? If I get more, I'm thinking the cotton ones will hold up better than the other ones. @mediagirl: @Andrea: Great tip on not putting meat or dairy in the bags or at least putting them in a plastic bag first. @artbee: Partly the reason I haven't started using them yet because I like the plastic bags for my dog's poop and I like getting paper and plastic bags so I can put my recyclables in them. @chopsuey119: Great tip on bringing my paper bags from home to reuse! Some of the towns in our area have stopped offering any free bags at the store, so you are pretty much forced to bring your own.
