@ Mr. Bee: He's one of the popular Lamaze toys:

http://www.amazon.com/Lamaze-Play-Mortimer-Moose-Along/dp/B000I2MRLU

Also, my husband says every impression I do has an element of Bill Cosby. Which I guess just means I'm really bad at impressions!

DH and I are both pretty dramatic. When we read to little ones, we definitely do silly voices. It makes it really fun to eavesdrop on!

Absolutely. Also, you should hear my "Mortimer the Moose" voice. It's a cross between Jell-o puddin' pop Bill Cosby and Bullwinkle.

Sometimes. My LO is still younger, so it helps keep his attention just a bit longer.

Lately I've started using voices and accents when I read to Charlie. I think it's probably harder for him to understand what I'm saying. Plus I am horrible with accents.

On the plus side though, using voices and accents really helps me get really into the book. I tell myself that that enthusiasm makes the book reading experience more fun for Charlie! Although to be honest, it probably just is something I do to amuse myself.

Do you use voices or accents when you read books out loud to your kids?
