Between then and now, the SIDS rate has not gone up....it has stayed relatively the same since 1994. If there is an identifiable SIDS risk that I can easily avoid then I am going to do it. I look at it as, if the worst happens and the "risk" becomes a reality could I live with myself ? Then we used a breathable bumper. My husband's little brother broke his arm in his crib when he was little, and I know someone else that had their daughter hit her head so hard so broke skin. In the last few weeks she has really started to move around in her sleep and gets herself stuck up in the corner and screams bloody murder till we put her back in the middle (just for it all to happen again a few hours later).<br /> My LO also sleeps on her belly, and has since she was a month old, she just wasn't happy on her back. I had assumed that this is more for the little, little babies. No? </p> <p>Either way, I must confess- we use ours! Our babes is 5 months old and she is such a wild sleeper! I mean, I'll place her down in the middle facing one way and when I check on her she'll be diagonal on the other side facing a different way- WILD. We tried to take it off one night and she woke up hysterical when she hit her head. It went back on immediately. </p> <p>Am I the worst parent ever?! </p>
