I go on Zillow about once a month just to look at Seattle homes for fun. :) I should just live in Seattle and shop in Oregon - best of both worlds, no income tax then no sales tax! Gloomy, dreary weather has always been my favorite so that shouldn't be a problem for me. I also love that sometimes, Seattle snows in winter - so you get all four seasons, but a really really mild version of it! Your earnings immediately go farther. Seattle home prices are totally reasonable compared to California. You'll be trading sun for 9 months of cloudy/drizzly weather though.
