DD is 16 months and has been to 14 states! We've taken a few big road trips with her, and it's actually been really fun! I think that comes into play a bit more with international travel for me though. I feel like going to Europe in high school was life changing for me, in terms of feeling like the world was not so big. We were so lucky, and now, knowing how expensive it is to take those trips without those "perks," I am even more grateful that we had those opportunities. I would love to be able to travel as much with our family, but since we don't have the miles and the hotel points, it is just not financially in the cards for us. </p> <p>This is where Hubs and I disagree. I want to save our money and take bigger, more "exciting" trips every couple of years. Hubs wants to go to the beach every year. Same beach. Same house/hotel. With his family. Meh. I was so lucky to see so many places and different cultures, and I really want D to experience that. I think it is important to be exposed to different things. It is a great stadium, I just hope the weather cooperates.</p> <p>We love to travel and I think we will try to do a lot of it with our kids but I don't think we will have any blatant goals about how much we want to see. DD1 has already made an around the world trip and has visited four continents....she's 21 months. We're moving to England in June and part of what swayed us to England over the US are all the travel opportunities. Just checked off visiting IL, MO, WI, and IN. Will be in MI tomorrow. So after this trip, we will have seen all but 11 states!</p> <p>I asked the DH if we wanted to revisit all (or as many as possible) states with our kids. I was expecting him to say yes but he said no. He said he would rather let our LO decide if they want to see all the states when they are old enough to travel or drive themselves.</p> <p>We realized that when we have kids, our road trips will decrease and driving for 8-12 hrs might not be enjoyable for our LOs or for us.</p> <p>I am hoping we can take our child to see Europe, at least once. DH had never been to Europe so it is and will be a big trip. We'll see.</p> <p>ETA- We do like road trips but I don't think our goal will be to see as many states as possible with our LO. If we have to travel or feel like traveling, we'll definitely take our kids. </p>
