I don't use anything twice, other than jackets/outerwear and hats. I launder everything after one wear, usually doing a load of light colored and a load of dark colored every other day. I used to do a lot less laundry when my son wore sleep and plays everyday. Now after his morning nap I change him into an outfit, which for the most part stays clean, but he's crawling all over the floors.

Her clothes always gets soiled - the first few months, she was spitting up a lot and now she's drooling all the time. Pjs and jackets might get a second wear but most everything gets laundered after one wear.

Onesies get thrown in the wash after one wear. Pants get about 2 wears. Towels, I use twice then wash. Socks get 2-3 wears (mostly because they rarely stay on her feet and I end up just taking them off and putting them back in her drawer).

Yes, I wash everything after one wear except for jackets and sleep sacks that aren't dirty yet.

Unless there's drool, spit up or pee on it, I normally let me wear stuff a couple times before washing.

There are no clothes that don't get massively soaked in drool. Even if she has a bib on all day. So we always have lots of laundry.

The only thing I don't wash after every use is jeans and sweaters/jackets. I was really good at washing things in the beginning before I would let my LO wear them- but that has definitely gone by the wayside and I stopped using the Dreft detergent almost immediately- found it really expensive and nothing has seemed to irritate her skin.

I'll wash a onesie after every use, but I'll reuse pants a couple times (unless they get dirty), and I'll reuse outerwear pretty much until he drools all over it or spits up on it, which is usually once every few wears. Tshirts also typically get washed every time because he drools.

Maysprout, I think that makes sense if she's not crawling, not spitting up, or not giving you any explosive diapers.

The only clothes I don't wash after every wear are hoodies/fleeces since he usually wears them under his coat but it's really not in contact with anything.
Sometimes pajamas if he got a bath the night before or if he didn't have a full diaper (which is happening more often after he's been potty trained during the day)

@Maysprout: Then in your case, if it doesn't seem dirty... I wouldn't wash it. Babies at that stage don't sweat... so it's not like they would stink. No one would really know ;) Go for it ;)

@blushink: I think we might be in a special time because she's not spitting up, though she did a lot the first couple months, but she's not crawling (or at least not far) yet, so she doesn't really get dirty. I'm sure that will change though soon as she starts eating more solids and moving more on her own

Mavi was a regurgitator when he was an infant and now as a toddler forget it he's always dirty whether it's food, drinks etc. So ya, we wash after every where. I check his PJs though. if they still seem clean, I use them again.

It depends how old the baby is but if they are under 1 yr, I would wash after everywear, thats what my sister in law does with my newphew's clothes.

I just was putting away some of little ones clothes and caught myself doing a sniff test before I decided whether to throw it in the wash or just fold it and put it away. Unless it gets wet from spit up or pee or dirty I usually will let something go several wears before washing. Cuts down on laundry but I'm sure others find it a bit gross.
