At my breastfeeding class, I was told "baby needs clean, not sterile," so I don't bother with sterilization. Breast milk is antibacterial anyway. I sent bottles through the dishwasher once and they came out stained orange!!! I'm sure they're clean, but I didn't like the look so I threw them out. No more dishwasher for me. There are just so many nooks and crannies in the pump parts I feel better hand washing them.
