I find that it really can have a negative effect on me. Especially stories about dogs/animals. Those seem to stick with me. There is one local news channel I do occasionally enjoy watching tho bc they pride themselves on trying to show mainly positive stories. Some days I stick around for a bit of the local, other days I turn it off. And he lamented about how everything is so sad/bad/depressing. I usually get my news from reading online, he gets it through the radio (he drives a lot for work). </p>
