My son hardly ever eats cake/candy so when he sees cake and candy at bday parties he goes nuts. So we let him eat a little cake with no frosting or some ice cream. Always watered down! We'll do mainly water with a splash of juice. He's 3 and has only had 100% juice once (from a juice box at a birthday party). He was whining for juice and he saw all of the other kids drinking from the juice box so we just let him that time. He devoured that juice box in 10 seconds! He kept whining for more! I was scared that he would demand non-watered down juice from on but he didn't. He still drinks watered down without any problems.
