I will admit, before moving to New York I would wear yoga pants and other casual things out and about, but the city cured me of that. The expectations are quite different; people tend to look put-together most everywhere. In the city, it's mainly just the very young that dress in this "athleisure" style. When you see someone older dressed this way (even the more fashionable version in the photos), people seem to judge them for trying too hard to look young. </p> <p>I just moved to a much more casual kind of town, so I sometimes drop by the store on my way home from yoga class. I, for example, do not look good in skinny jeans or leggings and big tops that seems to be the default around here.
