I do glasses at night and mornings, contacts once I'm ready for the day. I had a corneal scratch this past summer and had to wear only glasses for 6 weeks- it sucked, but wasn't as bad add I thought it would be. I paid the "maximum" cost they had because of the technology I chose and my strong prescription. If I remember correctly, for both eyes, it was around $5500. I had a pretty bad prescription .. I think around -7ish. I couldn't function without my glasses/contacts. It made me feel vulnerable and I didn't like it. If you add up the cost of paying for contacts and new frames/lenses for the rest of your life - it is pretty cost effective. Wearing glasses reminded me of my blindness so I preferred the ignorance of contacts. I would say Monday thru Friday we mostly wear glasses and are weekend contact wearers.
