I wore 4"-5" heels until my 8th month because it became too painful on my pelvic bone. I really didn't see any problem with wearing heels throughout pregnancy.

I almost always wear flats but now that I'm farther along I wear 1-2" heels because they reduce my back pain. I get crap for them, and I just say "actually, they reduce my back pain" and people shut up.

Also the only time I fell, I was wearing flats.

I got the same! So many people fussed at me for wearing heels and it got on my nerves. I wore heels up until 37 weeks pregnant and now switched to flats because of swelling/comfort.

I can see how it would possibly throw you off balance but I didn't grow this belly overnight, I don't feel wobbly. LOL

for me, i wore heeled boots and my foot did actually fold. i stopped wearing them and bought some flat boots.

for me, heels REALLY hurt my feet now. all that weight on my toes. i like flats, flip flops and sneakers only - more for comfort than anything else.

I love heels, and I have tons of them, but I had to stop wearing them because of ingrown toenail issues :( Now at 8 months pregnant, I could imagine wearing heels because I already have enough trouble walking around!

I wear heels (about 3 inches) every single day, all day, at work. No issues with balance or tripping. Some people are better in heels than others; as long as you can actually walk well in heels and they are comfortable, I say do what you like!

I used to wear at least 4 inch heels every single day. Then when I started dating Rob Sr. I switched to all flats (we're the same height). I now only wear heels for formal occasions, and I never wear anything over 2.5 inches.

I did wear 3 inch heels when I was MOH in a wedding at 7 months pregnant! And I was surprisingly fine!

I usually dont wear heels. I am 5ft 11. Some people were heels during their entire pregnancy but I personally dont like the idea. heel arent really good for you even if you arent pregnant. Plus when your pregnant your pelvic bone loosens up and you dont have as much balance as you usually do. When I see other pregnant women wearing heels I wonder how they manage

I was wearing heels until August, when I had a bout of swelling that made my heels uncomfortable. I was around 5 months pregnant at the time.

I don't wear heels when not pregnant so I would never ever want to when I was pregnant. I would fall! But I know people who wore heels throughout their pregnancy with no issues.

I had a friend who always wore heels because she had high arches - they were just more comfortable, and her feet ached more with flats. Early on, she went "screw it!" and wore them until flats were more comfy (5+ months in.)

I'd say if you are at home in heels, wear them until they are no longer comfortable.

@anbanan15 I've heard about the shifting center of gravity, but I assumed that happens when the baby gets larger/the preggy belly starts sticking out more. I'm only 11 weeks along and not really showing, so I figured my center of gravity should not be that different than it was pre-pregnancy. Does it really shift right away or so suddenly that all of a sudden one would lose balance?

I didn't/do not wear heels. I'm average height (5'5") but hate the feeling of being tall, so I prefer flats.

I've heard the not wearing heels because of an increased in falling and the comfort factor with tired, swallon feet. Pregancy can influence your center of gravity and balance, so just because you are experienced wearing heels and haven't fallen in the past, don't be surprised if you suddenly start doing so.

I'm required to wear flats at work, but I'm short (5'0") and like to wear heels on weekends, especially Sundays at church since I dress up and am always in front of the congregation and like to be put together. When we announced out pregnancy to our families (happened to be on a Sunday), I was reprimanded for my shoes! When I asked for their reasoning, they said it was because I could fall. I've been wearing heels since I was a teenager, generally wore 3.5in+ heels, and I've never tripped, twisted an ankle or fallen.

When I looked it up, all I could find was advice against it due to heels being uncomfortable. I make a conscious effort to buy good quality, comfortable shoes. Since I found out I was pregnant, I've stuck with my 3in and under heels and only wear those with a thicker, more stable base. I don't feel uncomfortable. My feet never ache or swell or get tired.

I really am curious about this and wont fight to keep my heels if it really is actually bad for the baby. I just thought I had at least a couple more weeks of leeway. The other thing I was thinking was that once I stop wearing heels, people would assume I was pregnant, since I wear them every Sunday, and I'm not ready to announce so publicly.

Is there a reason for not wearing heels besides, "you could fall"? Should I start shopping for dressy flats? Does/did anyone else wear heels while pregnant?
