When we decided to get engaged, I just started wearing a family heirloom ring that I'd had for a while. It was a more traditional-style, single diamond sticking up in the middle kind of ring, and not really my style at all. I knew I only ever wanted to wear one ring, so I just designed a wedding band to stand alone.
