More in the sense that I wish she would play by herself more. Sometimes I just need to put laundry in the dryer without her following me.

She is getting more and more independent...when she wants to be! Ex. She doesn't want to be held and wants to explore everything on her own...but still won't hold her sippy cup for longer than a sip or two. It's easier for mom to do it :silly:

I wish he was more independent. He does great at daycare and with his babysitters, so that's good. But he's a bit of a wimp at playgrounds, the beach, the pool, and baby classes. He really clings to me and wants to be held. Eventually, he warms up to a new space or experience but it takes some time.

My LO is waaaaaay too independent. She wants to push the stroller instead of riding it in, she wants to clip and unclip her own car seat buckle (even though she doesn't know how), she wants to run through the parking lot and has no desire to he carried or hold hands, she wants to put her shoes and socks on herself (again, something she doesn't actually know how to do). I'm hoping her determination will serve her well down the road but man, it can be exhausting being her mama!!

@yellowbird: it is! I try my best to stay calm and try not to bribe her with anything but sometimes I admit I have to! It's worse when it's just me, her, E and a cart full of food. Lol!

@Bao: haha, I know what you mean. My A has super tantrums but they are pretty short if I can redirect. It is embarrassing in public though :(

My LO is very independent, but she lives to ask me for help of she can't do something. I feel like we're at the perfect balance right now!!

She's pretty balanced right now and it's so nice. Before she started daycare (she started at 6 months old) she was wayyyyy too dependent on me. It was a little flattering but mostly exhausting. Now she still cuddles with me before bed but easily goes to others and doesn't freak when I leave the room.

LO is so independent it sometimes drives me crazy. She insists on doing everything herself, and although that's great it sometimes becomes too much. She wants to always push the grocery cart for example, and if I don't let her for two seconds she throws herself on the ground and has a tantrum. She is very determined!

Is your LO pretty independent? Do you wish they were more or less independent?
