I work from home, but I also own my company... so even when I'm not working, I'm still sort of working!

Thankfully a lot of my work takes me to meetings out and about and all over town, I think I would go crazy if I was just inside at a desk all day every day.

I originally had quit my full-time job (in office) and planned to be a SAHM, but my company came back to me last month and asked me to come back on a part-time, work from home basis. So far it's worked out, but I'm only committed to 15 hours a week. I have been with the company for 4.5 years, and my position was one that was created for me, so they had a hard time replacing me - hence why they offered me what they did.

What I like most is having no commute and not dealing with negativity in the office. My husband works an earlier shift so I can log in hours in the afternoons when he's home and watching LO. I would never be able to work from home if this wasn't possible - my LO wants too much attention and doesn't nap for a long time.

In the future when my LO is in school it would be a dream to work from home so I can still have a flexible schedule and be there for pick up everyday and all that. I've always wondered how people find these types of positions.

I have the option to work from home in my company. There's really nothing special about it...you can set up a schedule to do it a couple days a week or you can just do it once in awhile. You do have to take some special training and you have to be available when they call you (they get suspicious if you are away for too long), but if I wanted to, I could work from home twice a week. I choose not to because I am more productive in the office and uh, telecommuters are the first to get laid off. Out of sight, out of mind. I've been here about 4.5 years and I'm an engineer. We all have laptops, so we all have remote accessibility. They do frown upon working from home in order to avoid regular childcare costs. If you work from home regularly, you need someone to watch your kid. Once in awhile it's ok, but regularly, the company realizes you aren't productive.

I get bored, frankly. I feel like a bum. I have no contact with others. But I will likely work from home the last week or two of my pregnancy. I have this fear that my water will break at work and it will be tres awkward.

I've worked from home full time for the last 3 years or so. I've been with the company for 7 years now. My company has you work in the office for at least 3 months before they will send you home. they are really telecommuter friendly though. My boss is a VP and she's WAH. I'm a Sr. business Analyst.

I work from home. I do medical coding and billing for a small practice. I got into because it is my dad's practice and I helped him put the database together. So I would say I am a special case. I love being able to work from home and care for my son at the same time.

I work from home and feel so lucky to be able to do so. This pregnancy has kicked my butt, and I couldn't imagine getting up every day to go into the office!

I had a full time job in PA, and had a great relationship with my boss. When my husband and I moved to NC for his job, my boss approached me about staying on and working from home. So, a bit of a unique situation. I got lucky! Especially because I only work part time now :)

I work from home, but I worked for the company for almost 6 years before making the proposal (including a write up of how my position lends itself well to working remotely, how I would save the company money freeing up office space, steps I'd take to ensure my success working off site). I do miss being in the office sometimes, and probably would still want to work part time in the office if I could, but we moved out of state.

I will say that as nice as it is to not have a really long commute anymore (and all the savings on gas and wear on the car), there are definite downsides to working from home. I tend to feel like a shut in some days, and it's really hard to make friends when you move to a new place and you're not out there interacting with people daily. I try to make sure we go out to dinner at least once a week, and I take some classes and stuff, just to get out of the house. Overall, I think I'd pick working from home over being in an office 9-10 hours a day, but working from home is not always all its cracked up to be, at least for me. But then, I really like my co-workers and had a fun office environment when I was working onsite!

I can work from home since we have remote access, but it isn't encouraged. I'd totally work from home more frequently though because I love working from home. I'm also just as productive at home as I am in the office and I've proven this!

I work from home most days. I only really go in if there is a big meeting or a one on one with my manager which is once every 2 weeks. I've been with the company for 6 years and I started doing this 3 years ago. I'm also a software engineer so I can work remotely.

I work from home full time. I initially took a 3 month temp role with my company. At the end of the 3 months, I proposed that I could do X type of work from home and they approved it. I do have 11 years of experience in the industry so I can work completely independently.
