I work in the oil &amp; gas industry and the company I work for has a very long history and a few dinosaurs here. I'm the youngest in our office by at LEAST 20 years and it can be super frustrating. Especially because the men are from that chauvinistic generation. One man who doesn't work here any more always referred to mat leave as "vacation". Thankfully it didn't affect me at the time and he's gone now that it does. </p> <p>So far everyone has been pretty good. I think some of our old guys are doing a little changing with the times. I don't know if it was on purpose or if the words just temporarily escaped him! </p> <p>I feel like the main disadvantage is that my job doesn't lend itself to part time work and that people work *all* the time. </p>
