I worry about it a lot. I definitely think that a lot of the problems we are facing now - infertility, cancer, ADHD, autism, developmental delays, premature puberty, etc. - are related to the chemicals in our environment. Ugh, it makes me feel weirded out even talking about it!

But the thing is, I don't really know how to avoid it without totally changing our lifestyles. Like, I've been trying to avoid BPA, but I am at a loss at how to cook without cans. Alfatoxins are my new obsession, but you pretty much can't avoid them without being vegan. So I guess I worry about it, but I know that there's not much I can do... I do plan on eating totally organic and cutting back on meat when we TTC/when I'm pregnant, and feeding our kids organic, so hopefully that will help at least some.

I do but I don't go crazy over it because it just gets to be too much and that's no way to live. It does stink that our word is so full of chemicals, though.

I do worry about it. I like using only natural cleaning products, storing my food in glass containers instead of plastic, and lately I've been eating less meat.

Not really. Of course I want her to be healthy and will try to feed her healthy things, but chemicals are just something I don't worry about. I have enough to worry about without that.

I use natural cleaning products because the smell of stronger stuff gives me migraines.

Yes and no. Our food is very local, we buy only Swiss products when we can and if we can't, like for fish, we do research. We're lucky in that all the food products including produce are marked with their origin. We get our beef directly from a farmer, we buy eggs from the market down the road, our milk is produced in this county.

What I worry about is cleaning products.

When we were TTC, I read up on how global fertility had plummeted in the last few decades... it was pretty scary. Since then, I've made a huge effort to cut back on exposure to chemicals in general. I even eat less meat and fish, since the concentration of chemicals can intensify at the top of a food chain.

I worry a lot about our kids' exposures to chemicals too, especially since they're in that critical growing stage. I hope they come out of childhood without being dosed with chemicals like their parents were!!

Do you worry about exposure to chemicals... both for yourself and your LO?
