I kept riding a bike my entire second pregnancy, and I felt free to go as hard as felt good. I just made sure to stop when it started to feel bad, and it was great. I felt awesome the entire time, had an easy birth, and came out afterwards in better shape than when I started.

My pelvis got really loose really quickly with lo1. I left a lot at work and could still do it, I just had to make sure I was lifting well.

I feel the same way this time except now I have a very dynamic 27 pound 11 month old to carry.

If it is something you could do before you were pregnant you can do it while pregnant so long as you don't have complicarions.

I lifted plenty of heavy stuff all over work until I stopped working at 39+5 (went into labor the next day). I cut the grass on my hilly backyard until 37 weeks. It felt very empowering!

No. I held my 6.5 year old and 3.5 year old (85 pounds!) up the stairs after they were asleep in the car the other night. I'll probably still do that until I deliver this baby! My body is use to holding them and exercising though. Unless my heart rate is high (which it doesn't get high unless I'm running really fast mile after mile), then I'm fine.

No, I'm so used to picking M up and she's over 30 lbs. I know when I've pushed myself too much and need to stop.

I didn't worry about it. I was in Sam's loading giant bags of dog food in my cart a week before I delivered. My DH was pretty overprotective though and would fuss if he caught me with anything heavy. I figured second time moms have to carry around their older children and do so without any harm, so a little heavy lifting wouldn't hurt.

No. I just shoveled a ton of snow and I don't work out lol. I just listen to my body and rest when necessary. I carry my toddler around so I can't really get away with not lifting stuff!

I just make sure to listen to my body. I haven't been back to the gym since I got my BFP because of the weather, but I plan to keep lifting and running as long as I can with modifications as needed.

Nope, not at all. I had a 4 month old (a big one who was in 18 month clothing at 6 months and over 20lbs) when I got pregnant with my second. I spent my entire pregnancy packing him around - usually with something else in hand, too. That really changed my perspective on things. I think if you're not high risk there is no reason you can't reasonably carry those weights.

I never worried about it. I played tennis the whole pregnancy, carried heavy bags of dog food, painted the nursery, etc. Heck - I was playing pool volleyball the day before we headed to the hospital!

As long as you listen to your body, I wouldn't worry any more than that.

At this point (seven weeks), I don't worry about it except at the gym. But I'm in good shape and I lift weights 3-4x a week regularly. I try to keep my heart rate at a pace where I can still hold a conversation without gasping. Other than that, I do what I'd do otherwise. Later on, as joints become flexible and I get heavier, I'll worry a little more.

But everyone's body is different and it sounds like you're being careful and taking care of yourself, which is good!

We'd always intended to move LO to the medium sized bedroom (currently a junk room) long before we ever got pregnant or even considered a second LO.

Now that LO2 is on the way, we decided to get the ball rolling, knowing it would take several weeks, if not a few months since we only have the weekends and we have a toddler underfoot ;)

I've been moving boxes that are probably 25-30lbs and rearranging furniture, but taking a lot of breaks and staying hydrated and only working for an hour at the most (hence why this will probably take several weeks!)

Should I be worried about over exertion? I'm trying to listen to my body and I'm definitely leaving some of the heavier lifting to DH, but in my first pregnancy, I barely even carried in groceries lol!

Do you ever worry about over exertion?
