Yep, there are too many choices to have to deal with bad customer service.

On the flip side great customer service will usually make me a repeat customer and I'll send a praising email.

@Mrs. Pen: DH is the total opposite, he will usually walk out of a store if a sales associate greets him, lol. Okay so he's not that bad but he hates it when they come up and try suggest things to him, or talk to him. He just wants to be left in peace to buy something.

I totally do this. I'll never fly on United after a horrible experience we had with them a couple years ago. There is no good reason why it should take 4 days to get from San Francisco to San Diego by air travel -just no! I try to give a brand at least one more chance before writing them off since everyone has off days but after that, I'm ruthless. On the flip side, I am very brand loyal to places like Nordstrom, Costco, Trader Joe's, and Bristol Farms because of their customer service.

@Mrs. Pen: Maybe its because I order about 10 items and then only keep 3-4 which fit well? They seriously give me the dirtiest looks and sigh when they are processing the return... it also takes forever to process the return!

I was so mad at AT&T for ridiculous charges while I traveled outside the country. I was so close to cancelling my account. I was so pissed, I even cursed at them.

Then I noticed that someone credited my account the next month. My $270 bill went down to $90 for that month. Awesome. Sucks that I had to throw an f bomb.

@Mrs. Pen: The only that drives me crazy about LOFT is that returning an online order is incredibly PAINFUL and because of that... I always get dirty looks when I want to return something. They need to take some lessons from Target -- scan the receipt, scan the item and presto, its done! Other than that, I agree their customer service is great.

I totally stop going back to restaurants if we've had poor service.

I had a really terrible experience trying to return something I ordered from Macy's that wasn't as described (it was part of a "direct ship to customer from manufacturer" so I couldn't return in the store) and it really soured my feelings about them. I still occasionally shop there, but I much prefer Nordstrom!

Yes! I refuse to go back to a local restaurant who ruined my birthday dinner.

I love shopping at Nordstrom because their service is second to none. Like @MrsPen said about Loft, I worked for Nodstrom and their training and customer service rules are amazing. You can return something that you blatantly purchased somewhere else and they are obligated to refund your money. Who does that?!

Heck yes! Like @Mrs. Pen the opposite is true if I get great customer service. I can be either very loyal, singing your praises...or, dun dun, telling everyone how awful the company is.

@woodentulip: you have to send an email to arrange a return and I haven't received a response in 8 days...besides the canned thank you for your email auto response!

Yep!! And vice versa! I love shopping loft because their customer service has always been INCREDIBLE. Too notch. I actually worked for them and was amazed with the standards to which we were held :)

Now if I'm shopping, I usually won't buy something if a sales associate doesn't greet me right away ;)
