I smoked regularly outside of work hours from 22-28! Quit a few months before we started ttc ds1! After quitting myself I've turned into the judgmental ex-smoker. It kind of worked. He switched to e cigs (over 4 years ago), and now has an appt to quit from everything. Then switched to only social smoking when drinking in mid 20s, and stopped with kids. I will say I know it's disgusting and unhealthy but when I drink I still crave it and if I'm around the wrong people I will sneak a puff here and there...my husband HATES it (as do I in the morning!) Obviously it's after I've had a few too many drinks - never sober and never around kids. so maybe 1-2 a year? Oh my gosh! I completely forgot the name until I read that. I socially smoked in college (see above comment) cloves and some cigarettes when I lived in Europe. But I'm a total newb and I smoked like I smoked cigars and didn't fully inhale! I honestly didn't know how to do it. I'm a dork! Haven't even smoked a cigar in 4+ years. Party crowd, peer pressure, it felt so "cool". But I successfully quit and haven't had a cigarette since. I still crave them even though it's been years. A lot of my family smoked and I always thought t was gross. When I was nine, we went to visit my Nana and she was blue. My dad had to call 911. It was cheaper and was more of a social thing since you could smoke in restaurants. I quit a few months after I came back to the US. Mostly black and mild's, which are cigars, but some cigarettes. It was just kind of fun and relaxing, and got me more breaks at retail jobs. Quit because (now)DH hated them, and it wasn't like I thought it was a great idea anyway. For whatever reason, quitting was absolutely no big deal. Used to have a drinking problem too, and had no issues quitting when DH put his foot down. I have this major addictive personality, but when I quit things I quit for good with no issues. Fun story- when I first started smoking apparently I didn't know how to inhale (I blame too many years of only drinking through straws). One day driving home I figured it out, and I was so, I guess almost high feeling is the best word for it, I drove right past my apartment.
