I did this all the time last spring/summer when he couldn't sit up yet. I'd take him in the shower with me with the Bumbo. He'd sit in the Bumbo while I showered and washed my hair, then I'd pick him up and clean him, etc. I'd have our towels all ready and lay him down and wrap him up when we were done.

@HabesBabe: Ha ha, thanks. My husband thought so too, and used to beg me to let him take pictures when my son was super tiny and would fall asleep every time. But ain't no way that was happening. :)

@junebugmama: SO WELL! Loved it. It w as super easy to get him to just doze off after the bath because he was super relaxed. I agree, was peaceful and bonded.

@TurtleDoves: How did it go?

I ended up showering with LO tonight as he's teething and wasn't willing to be independent. It may so strange but I love showering with him. He's so calm and peaceful and always just rests his head on my shoulder. He looks up at me so sweetly too. It's relaxing for both of us I think.

We had one of the extendable shower head and that helped a ton. I just put a towel down and laid him on the towel. When he was almost sitting up we put him in the bumbo and then a bath seat and now he walks all over.

When on vacation if there isn't a tub I shower with LO, I just hold her in the shower. I always just make sure to have some place to put her down when I'm getting ready and finished.

She hates showers though. Not a fan of water getting in her eyes :(

I showered with my son pretty much from the beginning. He's 9 months and we probably stopped around 7 since he started enjoying the tub.

I would first put him in the rock n play outside of the shower. I would wash myself and keep an eye on him, but he loved the sound of the shower, so he was almost always fully content. After I was done, I'd bring him in with me. We have a teak shower seat in our shower, and I'd sit and hold him on my lap with my leg crossed, cradling him. I could washing him safely like that. Then we'd stand up and I'd get under the shower head with him and give him a good rinsing. Then we'd get out, I'd wrap him in a towel, and stick him back into the rock n play while I got myself dried off.

I really think having a seat is key.

I have showered with my son from day 1 as he hated baths. I would sit him in a bouncy seat outside if the tub, now an excosaucer, and wash my hair, shave, etc. Then I just pull him in to finish at the end. I get him down to a diaper, so thats the only thing that I have to remove.

You could also use a bath sling I bet to accomplish your idea.

I like my showers way too hot, so that wouldn't be safe for LO...plus I wouldn't be able to do anything one handed and not fall over lol.

Could you bathe with her? I am afraid of dropping my lo when I shower with her but I can bathe with her really easily. I put her in the bouncy seat next to the bath (well, now she sits next to the bath but before she could sit...) and get in. Then, I grab her and we relax and get clean in the tub. When it's time to get out, I put her back in the bouncer, get out and get a towel on, grab her and put her towel on.

Lo is too big for sink baths and I have back problems so I can't give him baths in the tub (on my own).
Waiting for DH to come home and do bath time sometimes stinks because it throws off my timing/bedtime routine that has so far been going so well for LO.
SO, I'd like to shower with LO.
My mom did this with us once we could sit up on our own and she would put us at the end of the tub where the water wasn't hitting us and gave us toys. Then she would shower and before getting out, grab me and wash me up. It was a 2 for 1 deal!
I want to try this but if there is any other way it could be done, please share! I wish there was a way I could start now, but LO is 13w and doesn't sit up unassisted obviously...he barely has head control.
