Nope! My other two coworkers are always late and run on their own schedules. I'm the only one on time. Lol

Heck no. We're salaried but don't really have set hours and can pretty much come and go as we please.

At my last job, though, there was one woman who would literally sit by the windows and watch people walk into or walk out of the office and then make comments about them being late or leaving early. The kicker was, she was always coming in late, taking long lunch breaks, and leaving early.

@LuLu Mom: LOL! Good comeback. A coworker was looking for me this morning and said to the woman who works across from my office, "Oh, i didn't realize she worked banker's hours." Grrr...

I'm always early (but I leave at 5 on the dot for daycare pick up) and I feel I get judged for this, but I don't really care. We don't clock in, it's a honor system here, but I know we have one coworker who will make snide comments if we are running late "oh I didn't realize we were coming in late today..." well lady "we aren't" I did. ha

@Freckles: lol maybe! I think is work place is a little weird in general in terms of the vibe though. There seems to be two "factions" that are constantly bickering. There are the women in their 40s with a couple of kids who have held the same position for 20 years and are happy where they are. Then there are the guys in their 20s/early 30s who are busting ass to move up the ranks into management. I think the people who have been there forever resent the fast promotions the guys see and the fact that they are constantly wanting to change things. I think the guys get annoyed that they feel they get pushback for trying to "improve" things and that they get slack for working later hours. Meh whatever. I have never worked at a corporation and I dont think I want to!

@Mae: Does your husband work at my office? :P Seriously, i don't take 2 30 minute coffee breaks! Most have a 7-3am schedule as well.

@yellowbird: I actually dislike it when people make comments about others, because it only shows what their true feelings are when i do the same.

Thankfully no. We all have varying, flexible schedules due to the nature of our work. I'm a supervisor and salaried though, so it's even less of an issue for me than the hourly employees. I work 40+ hours a week, minimal breaks, eating at my desk while I review data. I consider the time I spend on the internet (hellobee) messing around as part of my two, 15-minute PAID breaks, not part of alloted unpaid breaks.
If anyone got snippy with me, I would kindly but blatantly point out that which you go without (that they take advantage of) that allows you to keep the schedule you do. It seems to shut people up.

We have one that does, but for the most part everyone is respectful and understanding of everyone else's time. It all comes out in the wash...If you're slacking, its obvious in your case reports!

I don't have coworkers but some of the older women at my husband's work do this and it drives him NUTS. They do not have set work hours there and are pretty flexible on when people work. A lot of the women with kids in school work 7-3 and they often make comments about how my husband is rarely in the office until 9 or 9:30. The thing is though, he works way longer hours than they do. They punch the clock 7-3 no matter what whereas my husband comes in at 9 or 9:30 and stays until he's done with what he's doing which is generally around 6 but often can be 7 or 7:30 or sometimes 9:30pm. It annoys him to no end because they act very superior to him because they don't "roll in late after sleeping in" but he's actually working longer hours. Also, on the occasions he has gone in early to get something done he said they mostly sit around and bullshit until 9 because that is when reports and whatnot start getting generated and when the real work STARTS. So yea. People should just mind their own business.

Not really. I will if I notice a co worker constantly late. I have one who likes to ditch for an hour and bring her husband coffee, come back to the office for like a half hour then go pick her kids up from school. I never say anything but that kind of behaviour is noticeable and annoying when i need to pick up the slack!

Not usually. I am generally here 10-15 min early, rarely take a lunch so if I'm here 10-15 min late they yell at me to go home :) I'm salaried but the past month or two have been super busy so hopefully things will calm down. But I also sometimes have things come up that require me to leave early and I don't feel guilty when that happens :-)

We had one person here who was TERRIBLE for this, she made notes on who arrived when and how long their lunch was etc etc etc. Thank heaven she isn't here anymore. My boss is super chill and is of the school of thought that it all works out in the wash. I often don't take a full lunch so if I come in 5-10 minutes late a few times a month I don't care.

Because people are nosey, busy-body asshats who think that pointing out someone else's *flaws* make theirs somehow less obvious or *bad* . . . Ridic!

ETA: Nobody watches *my*clock, but it happens to my assistant all the time (other assistants).

And make comments on what time you come in the office?

My coworkers are super old school, probably because they are older. Coming in later than 8:30 gets raised eyebrows. Since leaving later is not an option i take because of daycare pickup, i don't take a lunch, or smoke/coffee breaks that these ladies do. I make up for it, and my boss (in a different city) doesn't care, so why should it matter?

Grrrr...this is why sometimes i just prefer to work from home.
