DS only just started solids, so he's not eating tofu yet. Just wanted to chime in about brands -- DH and I eat tofu all the time (in Korean soups & stews, and pan fried), and I just get whatever they have at my local grocery store that's organic and cheap. Usually even the more "expensive," organic brands aren't that expensive - no more than $2-3 a pop.

My DD is 1/4 Chinese and 3/4 Vietnamese but prefers Italian food. I LOVE Asian cuisine in general and enjoy cooking Asian food more. I love tofu and bean curd dishes but DD hates tofu. She loves Italian food and so I have been trying to cook more Italian foods lately.

yep! I'm a vegetarian though and eat a lot of tofu (and also tempeh). I'm not crazy about Asian food so we usually make/serve it a little differently than other people are suggesting. We use this technique but serve it with all sorts of things, not just the sides or mustard sauce from this recipe https://www.blueapron.com/recipes/mustard-tofu-with-purple-smashed-potatoes-and-broccoli . Like, we make buffalo tofu a lot, with Frank's red hot, but then it's usually too spicy for lo

I have crumbled up extra firm tofu and fried with an onion to make "scrambled eggs" with toast. You just put whatever seasoning you like. Or fried in slices until crispy with soy sauce and put in a sandwich for a TLT instead of bacon. Quite delicious! My mum has cubed it and fried in soy sauce and put it in macaroni cheese. We also put it in curry or stir fry. I don't like the silken or soft ones just to eat in meals, but they do go well in a smoothie or to make chocolate pudding. You can also buy this stuff called tvp which is texturizing vegetable protein and comes dry, in different sizes and shapes and you can throw that in anything you would throw ground beef in. It just soaks up the liquid and flavour of whatever you cook.

Tofu can be an acquired taste and I go through phases of liking and disliking it. It soaks up whatever sauce, spice, or flavour you decided to cook it with. You can also eat it marinated and raw provided you buy the pasteurized kind. Test it out!

Also, Greek yoghurt packs a protein punch! You can add hemp hearts to cereal, smoothies, soups, and yoghurt to get more protein too and it will probably go pretty unnoticed. Probably could mix it into pasta sauce. I have also added Greek yoghurt too sauces and soups to make them creamy which is tasty. But it is tasty just by itself either flavoured or plain with maple syrup. I made a dip for apples once that was a bit of peanut butter, a bit of maple syrup, and some plain Greek yoghurt mixed together.

Yup! They actually really like tofu. But they like the extra firm tofu because it's easier to eat. I usually cube it then pan fry till crispy. Then I throw it into the wok at the very end of a stir fry. They also really love fish tofu; it's actually my 3.5 year olds favorite food!

My DS gets pickier every single day - ugh!!!

When eating hamburger he asked me what else he could eat instead and I told him tofu jokingly - now he keeps asking for it. - haha

I have never had it so I have no idea what its like but to be honest in my head I think its probably gross......

Do your kids eat tofu? how do you prepare it?

Or any other ideas to get protein my kid? He pretty much eats bread and pasta these days along with fruit.
