Well, I only have one, but she often asks for us to not include one or the other (ie H and daddy will go to the park and not mama) or the dog lately... I think it's about control....

Oh I love this idea! We have our second on the way and I really want to make sure each child gets the nurturing they need.

I have the opposite problem in that DS wants to eat the same things as his sister at the exact same time. Like for breakfast Ill start off giving them both a bagel lets say but DS is slow and talks and walks around and whatnot while DD houses her food so she finishes first and wants something else while DS is still eating the bagel and then he gets upset she is eating something he isnt and demands she eat a bagel still so they are doing the same thing. Its very exasperating to say the least

We've been reading books to the kids during breakfast and dinner, and sometimes one of them will ask that we read a book just to them. We're happy to let the kids take turns picking the books, but we always read it to both of them! Not sure how you can read a book to just one kid, when both kids are right there.

We've been taking it as a good reminder of the importance of alone time with each kid. So tonight when they asked for us to read to each of them alone, Bee took Olive to bed and talked to her alone there... while I took Charlie on a walk around the block to tell him a story just for him. Hopefully we can continue to work alone time into the kids' routine, so that they each feel special.
