He's 4 and loves reading, but if he is super sleepy he will fall asleep no matter what! And @twodoghouse: there's hope! When he was small he always nursed to sleep. She would just read to them until they fell asleep in bed with her. I can't imagine how many books that would take. I'm pretty sure that would never work for my kids, but right now they nurse almost all the way to sleep.
