@autumnlove: lol, yeah so crazy... It can be the exact same toy, and the little one just wants the one big sis has. Big sis reluctantly switches, but is still upset?! my kids are crazy!

@autumnlove: Lol, well first we told the kids we were going to a communist model household. :) they each "own" their individual blankies and EVERYTHING else has to be shared. Then we started showing DD that if she wanted something DS had (or if DS was trying to take her toy) she could "trade" him another toy. This works like 90% of the time to distract him enough that he stops trying to take her toy. If they can't work it out by themselves with trading/taking turns with a toy, I will set a 2 minute timer and they have to take turns. If that STILL doesn't end their fighting, the toy goes in time out and neither kid gets to play with it.

I think the majority of the time, they are able to trade/take turns all by themselves now, without my interference. I only step in maybe once a day, now (which is a big improvement!). It will get easier as your girls get older, too. Mine started playing much more nicely together after DS hit the 12-15 months.

We've figured it out pretty well by now (DD is 3, DS is 18 months). They were fighting all the time for about the last 9 months, but we finally implemented some strategies that work, lol!

YES a confrontation over duplos led to their first slappy fight the other day... my son is almost three and my daughter's not even 1 yet, but she's scrappy. On the one hand this concerns me, but on the other I have to keep from laughing because they look so funny.

Yes.. Even things that my DD outgrew years ago that my Ds plays with.. The second he starts playing with it, she has to have it. And he is allll over her princess books... Lots of whining all around. Sigh.

It will probably happen...DD is very possessive of her things, even "baby" things like her old rattle toy.

I'm afraid of this happening. Currently DS1 is taking all of the baby toys and playing with them. I keep telling him it's baby brother's toys, but he doesn't mind that they're baby toys.

The Winkel is popular with my girls and it usually involves hair pulling and tears.
