All my "parent" friends are actually just friends from high school &amp; we all grew up around here. Many of our parents own small businesses &amp; are prominent members of our small community. The few that don't have their families close by or just don't have helpful families are close enough with everyone else's family that their kids have been "adopted" in &amp; everybody's parents help out.
