Our family was never really big on birthdays (we got gifts as kids and into early adulthood, but once we moved out, we just stopped getting them) or gift giving (We used to not exchange christmas gifts for the adults, only for the kids, but now that we all are financially stable and capable, we starting buying gifts per couple. If there comes a point where one of us can't afford christmas gifts, we would go to a polyanna or ask that we not exchange gifts.) Kinda sad if you don't know us, but it is what it is and it doesn't bother me.
