My dad tries to hide things now that I'm pregnant because he doesn't want to stress me out. I would probably kill my parents if they hid something like a major surgery from me. Sometimes my dad's heart goes into a-fib and earlier this year it happened while he was in St Lucia. They didn't tell me because they knew I would freak out and not let him travel any more. I'm a serious daddy's girl and I lose my shit when something bad happens to him. A few months afterwards my mom slipped up and mentioned something about their credit card number being stolen at the hospital in St Lucia and the truth came out. My Dad had a heart attack last year, was hospitalized and had a big surgery while my brother and I were in the dark! My mom still answered my calls and texts like everything was just fine until she broke down a few weeks later. :-(</p> <p>I wonder if I will shelter my kids like this in the future?!?</p> <p>Do your parents tell you everything or shelter you? </p>
