And not in a sweet way. She tells me I just don't understand yet but I am pretty determined not to let worry take over my life like it does hers. </p> <p>- She has called the police on all of us to see if we were home okay, or to ask why our bus from a school event was late.<br /> - I had a curfew until I got married, because she "couldn't sleep if I wasn't home."<br /> - She asked if I moved to a safe neighborhood because someone on the other side of my state got murdered and it made national news.<br /> - Oddly enough, it didn't seem to bother her when I worked at a homeless shelter and regularly called 911 and one of my coworkers was stabbed by a client. </p> <p>The frustrating thing is all that worry is turned to LO now. For one, I don't like her constantly assuming something is wrong with him. He had a choroid plexis cyst, and despite dh and I not worrying about it, she was convinced he had major brain damage. He was kind of a ruddy, spastic newborn and they kept thinking something was seriously wrong with him. But now he is just an energetic kid who is always moving. They came to visit a week before he started crawling. My mom told me later, "remember how we were all worried he wasn't crawling yet?" Um, no, I guess you were though?</p> <p>Now he has been having stomach problems often, and I feel like I am always comforting her about it. She had a rough childhood, and I think only knows how to function in dysfunction, so she creates it if it isn't there. I hate knowing that she is using things like his vomiting to be all "oh woe is me" to her friends. It's way worse than when she would just irrationally worry about me.
