Our cats meow very loudly from the downstairs steps when they want food (most mornings). Often times our daughter wakes up to this (hearing them from her upstairs bedroom) and starts happily meowing back. I love our cats, but this drives me nuts!

No, the dog sleeps in our room and E's door stays closed. When I go get E in the mornings the dog follows me and E says hi to the dog first.

No; but she wakes up as soon as LO wakes up, no matter what time it is. As soon as LO makes any sort of peep, no matter how quiet, the cat is awake and ready for the day! :)

If we don't feed Smokey the cat in the mornings, she will go sit in front of the kids' rooms and start to meow loudly. Clever cat! Now we make sure the bedroom door is closed in the mornings, so she can't wake up the kids just to get fed.
