My son is very rough with his toys (not usually with bad intentions, he just plays very physically and enthusiastically - but I can hardly think of anything that has been broken - kids toys seem to be very sturdy!

Our decent toys have been fine...but cheap stuff like from birthday goodie bags or random cheap gifts people get do tend to break or not work. Then it is kind of a disaster because LO is so sad and I wish no one gave us those toys in the first place!

@looch: Good ole zip ties! I didn't even know those existed until three years ago.

I only have one kid, 16 months, and we have yet to experience a broken toy. She's fairly gentle with stuff, with the exception of loving to bang everything against the glass balcony door, which we obviously discourage.

---Except crayons. Lots of broken crayons. She tried to get me to put it back together the first time that happened. So sad.

Oh lord. My son has broken a lot of toys. Mostly cheap crappy ones. He is super rough on stuff (a lot of car crashes at high speeds!)

We've had some things that have gotten broken, namely a remote control car, but that's because of the stunts that my son was doing with it. Thank goodness for zip ties to repair it.

My son's pretty decent with caring for his toys, though, I have to say.

mine plays nicely with her toys and even close to 3 I can only think of a few things that have gotten damaged. My 4 yo niece on the other hand is so rough and destructive and will break things and hide the evidence.

My toddler knocked a rolling baby toy off a low shelf and it broke- it was just plastic and I'm actually surprised it did break. She was really upset and kept crying and asking us to fix it. Other than that not much, but I feel like toys for such little ones should be pretty indestructible. I'm sure it will happen as she gets older.

I never really thought about this, but no, she has never broken a toy. I think she's be really upset if she did.

I think the only things my DDs, 2&4, have ever broken are the legs off an Ariel Barbie doll and some plastic tiaras. They were too young for the toys at the time and were trying to bend them in a way that didn't work. Otherwise, touch wood, we don't have real damage or destruction. DD2 has a friend who is always ripping parts off dolls, writing on other toys, etc. I have to be selective about what is out when she's over. I think it all comes down to personality.

We have 2 boys (so lots of rough-housing and fighting over toys), and nothing has ever really broken. Missing parts - definitely. But broken, no! Fingers crossed it stays that way lol

LO's toys rarely, if ever, break. Her friends came over and were pretty rough with the dolls. I read an article that talked about siblings sharing toys and it made it sound like breaking toys happens often. So just curious... My brother and I had separate toys so I don't remember them breaking.
