I have a lot of extended family staying with me for Thanksgiving, but we are having the actual Thanksgiving meal at another family members house. My family makes cornbread stuffing, and its a really simple recipe. Make cornbread, crumble into a bowl, add chicken stock, sage, salt and pepper, and then if you like veggies you can add chopped up (&amp; sautéed) onion and celery. I add pancetta, Italian sweet sausage, lots of sage, parsley, apples, onions, celery. Lots of butter. Homemade turkey stock. It is hands down, my favorite part of thanksgiving dinner. It is BOMB. This coming from a person who didn’t like stuffing most of her child and adult life. You essentially take a loaf of torn white bread and a sleeve or two of crushed saltines and mix them together with some seasonings and eggs. It's stuff into the bird and when it's done, you can slice it. It's actually pretty good covered in gravy. :) </p> <p>Otherwise, my immediate family was making stuffing with either cubed pretzel rolls or sourdough bread with cooked sausage, seasonings and broth.
