@Mrs.Pinecone316: We have a body pillow and pregnancy pillow in her bed but she doesn't care  She wants mommy! And she doesn't even cry, she just gets out of bed and comes to ours. Oy.

I am in the same boat! My 2 year old has always slept in our bed. She was a terrible sleeper from the start and it was the only way we all got to sleep through the night. Well now I am due with #2 in August so I need her to get use to sleeping in her own bed. We just switched her to a twin hoping it would feel more like our bed but its the same story. We lay with her and she falls asleep but as soon as she realizes we aren't there int he middle of the night she cries until we bring her into bed. A friend just had good success with the doc a tot for the same reason but hers was younger, just turned 1. I am thinking of just trying a body pillow first. I loved sleeping with those growing up. She also loves snuggling with my snoogle pregnancy pillow so I am tempted to put that in her bed one night and see what it does.

I have been seeing them on tons of baby blogs. It's amazing how in between my last child 3 years ago and this one--baby gear marketers always seen to come up with a latest and greatest. Cosleeping worked best with my last child so I'm considering getting one IF it seems to work.

I know Etsy sells items like that for under $100... Of course, have no idea how safe they are, etc but if it's for a toddler I don't think we're worried about breathing issues right? Just search dock a tot on Etsy. I've been tempted to get one...

I've never heard of this and think it looks amazing. I think DS would have lived this at that age.

Thanks everyone!

@Run2shore: it helps to limit wake ups? My daughter wants to feel someone by her so I wonder if this would give that feeling of security.

@Mrs. Goose: that is super cute, but she loves to touch things and snuggle. That's why I'm hoping the DockaTot would kind of mimic someone laying beside her with eh walls. Could just be dreaming though!

We have that cot as well ... it helps a TON while we're traveling, so that would be my reasoning for trying to make that work at home too.

I should add that we were co sleeping before. And the dock a tot has minimized how often she wakes up and comes in our bed

We put the dock a tot grand in our bed (king) when our daughter was sick. It was definitely not something we could do long term. It is pretty big and takes up a lot space.

She's still in her crib (18months) and we keep it in the crib and she sleeps well with it - I know your not supposed to put it in the crib but we do and it works for us.

Would she be okay with just being in your room and you could get a little fold out cot? I have this for kid sleepovers and my 3 year old nephew loves it as his special bed. It folds up small.

No experience with the dockatot, but just looking at it online, there is no way my son would have stayed in that at that age. He has always been a wild one in bed, never in the same spot.

My 2.5 year old will fall asleep in her own bed if we lay there with her, but she will always wake up about 1.5 hours later crying and run to our room to sleep in our bed. She knows it's mommy and daddy's bed and really wants to be with us. She used to sleep alone for a few months with us just putting her in there to go to sleep by herself. Those were the days lol

I have been seeing the DockATot around and wondering if that has helped anyone's toddler sleep better if they want to cosleep? I don't mind sleeping with her in theory, but she is wild and we are always getting heel dropped in the face or kicked in the spine. With the price tag of almost $300, I need some good reviews!
