I don't understand the rationale of adults pressing their faces to the sides to determine if it's breathable. He would sleep well on me, in the crux of my arm, basically with any person... but not alone. I became so desperate for sleep that we laid him on a chiropractic pillow, it's a firm pillow that had two slightly raised sides like this dockatot. I found it on Target's website. They use it for the wee little babies (DD stopped playing on it at 5 months). They never sleep on it, just a very soft place to play. I tried it on a whim while traveling and it worked great to make sure our little baby stayed put and away from our pillows.
