@JennyD: yes it always works. the only problem is you have to warn them that it will end or you could end up with a transition nightmare.

i try to play a youtube video (lately they're really into venus fly traps) and not cartoons.

Ugh. Me too.

This morning I tried getting her up before I made breakfast, thinking I have been rushing her, and this would give her a chance to wake up a bit more before I rushed her to get dressed. Did not help.

I think I'm going to try explaining to her every morning what we have to do next. Our biggest problem is the endless whining and crying. I'm exhausted before we even leave the house.

To answer your original question I don't think a chart would help T yet. But he won't be 2 for another 2.5 months :)

No, it wouldn't have helped.

My husband gets him ready in the morning.

@winniebee: We've started using this tactic too. Especially when we're all trying to get ready at the same time.

I don't think my almost 2 year old would benefit from a chart yet.

It takes forever to get out of the house for us too. I change him while he watches a 10 minute episode of Thomas the train.

I'm getting tired of it taking SO long to get DD ready and out the door in the mornings (she always runs away from us when we try to get her ready). She's 2 so I'm wondering if a routine chart would make a difference.

Did you use one? Did it make a difference?
