My grandmother claims that it makes her tired. My kids had bronchitis over the Christmas holiday so they were on Amoxicillin and they definitely slept a TON. Like an excessive amount. And once they were off it that definitely stopped.

@Alivoo01: @HappyBaker: I hope so ladies! His sleep was poor even before he was sick (just waking up really early) so I am hoping that this will stick around.

I don't think amoxicillin causes drowiness. Like @HappyBaker: mentioned, I'm guessing it's that they're more comfortable and can finally rest. Hope the good night's rest is here to stay though!

@hilsy85: I notice this too but I assumed it was just be because their ears aren't hurting anymore so they are more comfortable and can sleep easier.

Both my kids are on antibiotics last night and both slept through the night for the first time EVER last night so I also hope it's here to stay and not a drug side effect!

LO has been on amoxicillin since last week for an ear infection and he has been sleeping SO much better at night and waking up later. Does anyone know if this is a side effect from the meds or is it possible that good sleep is here to stay (for a little while anyway!)?
