I saw both sides.

As a NB he only slept in our arms the first 2 months about. Even for night (ended up cosleeping for 3 months). But at 6 months old he doesn't nurse to sleep or sleep in my arms anymore. It does make me a little sad. I would love to have a few special nights of him sleeping with us, but I just don't think it would go very well!

My LO will sleep in my arms, but only when she's exhausted. As much as it makes me sad, I'm also glad that she's independent because it makes things a lot easier - especially putting her down for bedtime.

My LO would ONLY sleep in my arms. I do admit that I did love it..... but the upside that you have is that you can actually do things. I got absolutely nothing done when LO was a newborn! But I must say it was worth it.

It's so sad to me! The whole time I was pregnant, I had these ideas that I could spend my maternity leave snuggling with my sweet LO. That went out the window quick. Since day 1, she didn't really like to sleep in my arms (or next to me, or on us...) unless she fell asleep nursing. But even then, she wouldn't stay asleep. All of my friends talk about how much their babies cuddle with them and I have to admit I'm a little jealous. I'm already thinking of having #2 just to see if it would be any different :-P

I guess I just need to be happy she already has an independent spirit ...

Tell me I'm not alone!
