Screaming peaked for us the week before LO learned to say "noooooooo!". I much prefer no to the shriek. Good luck.

When you're out with LO try to remember that more people are looking at you are in empathy than are judging you. (That's what I tell myself anyway)

Yes. Mine is 17 months. Still screaming.... I think once he talks more he'll scream less... For now we frown and shake our head and say "oh that hurts Mommy's/daddy's ears.... Can you ask nicely" and he usually signs please or more.

My son is really into screaming these days. He wakes up and starts yelling. Bored in the shopping cart? Better yell. It isn't an angry yell-- it is just a loud high pitched squeal / scream. It ummm, makes going out in public interesting. We've tried ignoring the behavior to see if it will stop and we've tried discouraging it, but he seems to find it really fun!

Anyone else have this issue? He is 14 months -- will he grow out of it soon (please).
