LO is 9 months old and we started trying to feed her solids when she was 5.5 months. She still refuses to open her mouth for purees (she used to kind of let me smear some on her lips and she would lick it, but now she won't eve let me near her with a spoon). I've also tried different "finger foods" like banana, sweet potato, cheese, scrambled egg, strawberries, yogurt, etc. She will play with it, but never puts it in her mouth. My LO is pretty clear when she doesn't want<br /> to eat a food. Remember "food before one is just for fun!" so I wouldn't worry. But maybe try pears, peaches or plums? My LO will eat anything pear! She really enjoyed puréed avocado and banana even though she hated them separately. She wasn't interested at all at 6 months and then she got sick and was really uninterested. Now at 9 months, she's finally eating! She isn't a fan of bananas or avocado. No oatmeal. So I guess it was getting her used to flavors and seeing what she really liked. We started with spears of avocado (BLW I guess) and LO made this face of disgust that I've never seen before. Though he puts everything plastic/cardboard into his mouth, he had no interest in licking/holding/gumming the avocado. I mashed it up with some formula and tried to spoon feed but no dice. </p> <p>We tried avocado for a couple days, then orange, then apple and today banana (both spears and mashed up/spoonfed). I tried putting some banana puree on my finger and giving it to him. It was before his bottle so I know he was hungry, but he just got disgusted-face and pursed his lips so I couldn't even get anything in. </p> <p>I know he's getting his nutrients from formula right now but I'm just a little concerned with how vehemently opposed to real food he is! Anyone else experienced this? We'll keep trying (what else can we do?) but it's getting kind of disheartening. </p>
