I use the Ameda bottles (I have an Ameda purely yours), but with a Dr. Brown's premie nipple. The Ameda bottles don't come with nipples, but any standard nipple fits. I chose the Dr. Brown's premie nipples for the slow flow, because I had read that the flow is more of a problem for "nipple confusion" than the shape. My baby has not had any problems going back and forth between breast and bottle, although he has a slight preference for the breast.

We only used the Medela ones. LO BF almost exclusively for 3 months (only a random bottle here or there), and then used the Medela bottles at daycare until almost a year. We never tried any other kind since there appeared to be no problems either with drinking out of the bottle or switching between bottle & breast.

The nipples do tend to collapse on my Medelas, but it hasn't stopped me from continuing to use them! For some reason, it never occurred to me to use them with my first LO, but with #2 EVERYTHING is about convenience!

I use the Medela bottles with the calma nipple (I hate the ones that come with the bottles, they're too small). When I'm not freezing milk, I'll just pump into the bottles and leave them in the fridge - so all DH will have to do is pop a nipple on it.

I'm EPing and using the medela bottles. But, obviously, my LO won't latch so I can't comment on switching back from breast to bottle. Medela are easy to clean.

They're so convenient since you pump right into them. I used to transfer the milk to other bottles, hating all those drops of liquid gold that would go to waste! Then I realized LO was fine drinking straight from the them!

We don't use them. DH typically is the one to feed with bottles and he tried it once and said he hated them. I also don't think they're as good for switching between breastfeeding as the Avents we usually use. BTW, we just got a couple adaptor rings and can now attach the Avents directly to the Medela pump, so no need for the Medela bottles anyway.

We do. We had pretty epic bottle struggles from week 6 to 4 months when I went back to work. I tried every bottle I could find in that period. Daycare assured me the problem was that the bottles were not me and not that I hadn't found the right bottle. So I sent LO off to daycare with Medela since (1) I had a full set of those (2) they were way cheaper than the fancy bottles we tried (3) they are easy to clean. She took to them and we never looked back.

my husband prefers using the breast milk storage bottles- because they fit the standard size medium flow nipples that we used in the hospital-- but I prefer Tommee Tippee with the slow flow nipples

This is a random side note, but weirdly our baby girl will not take the Tommee Tippee bottles from him- she literally pulls away-- I use the Tommee Tippee ones with her just fine....

My LC is *very* anti the Medela nipples... (but you can use Dr. Brown's nipples with Medela bottles I think). She says that the base of the nipple is too wide and that it forces the baby to open it's jaw in a weird way that can disrupt BFing.

Oh gosh, we use Medela all the time. The bottles are fine. A very no-frills bottle. We didn't need the fancy stuff in Dr. Brown's (and our ped said she thought the special hoses, etc, were basically bs) and they have worked great for us. Easy to clean, too.

Eta: E was never actually breastfed, so she struggled with the wide nipples. So the narrow Medela were key for us
