Love our moby, if it hits the floor while I'm putting it on I just shake it out. It's awesome because it takes up so little space to bring along.

I made my own moby. You can Google to find out how much fabric to buy (cotton jersey I think it's called - like t-shirt fabric) and you don't have to sew, just cut. I am not crafty at all and it was easy and cheaper than the real thing. I really liked using it when my baby was little.

I'm thinking we might get the Ergo carrier and the Moby. I looked up the Ktan and since I'm likely going to loose a ton of weight after baby the size thing is stopping me from looking any further into that wrap. I've already gained alot during this pregnancy as I did with DS so I'm probably going to be loosing around 60 lbs. when LO is born.

We don't use Moby, but we use a similar wrap called Lovey Duds. It's a little lighter and less stretchy, so great for summer usage. We use ours every day!

@Honeybee: Maybe I'll have to give it another try. I see it in its little bag every time I open the closet and feel bad about myself! I have mainly been using the Ergo, but that thing gets HOT in the summer.

@pointybird: Lol, I'm pretty short, too. I just drape it over the couch or a chair so it doesn't hit the floor while I put it on. :) And I wash it often, lol!

@zippylef: The height thing is probably a big part of my issues with it! I'm only 5 feet tall, so it was just a lot to wrap around me. I felt like every time I tried it, the fabric ended up hitting the floor multiple times. I couldn't imagine doing it outside the house - it would have ended up covered in dirt.

But since everyone else had no trouble with it, I'm likely just slow!

I actually love my Moby, but I am tall. My shorter friends all hated them and felt overwhelmed. It is very long so I do think that your size really makes a difference.

I don't find it terribly hard or complicated. It's lightweight and stretchy and comfortable. It saves my life when we're grocery shopping. I have an Ergo too and I honestly think LO and I both prefer the Moby.

I really want a Beco Gemini carrier or a Girasol wrap, but both are expensive and only worth it if you find that you like baby-wearing.

I used the Moby with both my DD and my DS; it was especially helpful with my DS, since I could wear him and still have my hands free for DD. I didn't find it that complicated to wrap (once I practiced a few times), and it was my go-to carrier with both kids until they reached about 15 pounds. I wore DD in the Moby until about 6 months, and DS until just a week ago or so (3.5 months). Within the last week, I've switched DS over to the Ergo carrier, since he's a big boy and the Ergo is mopre comfortable!

I'll also say that, with both kids, we went through a bit of a carrier strike around 6/7 weeks. Once they had enough head control to be able to face outward in the carrier, they accepted it again, but around 6/7 weeks they just didn't want to face inward all the time and would fight being put in the carrier.

I bought a Moby and it didn't work out for me.. not because it was difficult to figure out (it really isn't), but my LO wasn't a typical newborn..
From day one she stretched out her legs and didn't have her legs bent like most babies.
I waited until she was about 2-3 months old to try it again, but she hated being in the Moby so I gave up and got an Ergo.
The Ergo lasted us a good 1+ years!

I heard glowing recs about the Moby during our TTC phase that I didn't really pay much attention to it. The further I researched, I heard that the Baby K'Tan is an easier version of the Moby's complicated wrapping directions. I plan on trying the Baby K'Tan.

I heard great things about the Moby, so I bought one and was immediately overwhelmed by how long it is! It's really long - it's a lot of fabric to navigate. I tried wrapping it a couple times, after watching some Youtube instruction videos, but I couldn't get the hang of it so I just tossed it in the closet. I'm still jealous when I see moms using it though, so I guess my advice is don't give up like I did!

I am 26weeks pregnant with LO #2. With DS (now almost 4) I wasn't as educated about parenting. I was 19 and a single Mom when he was born. Now that I am happily married with a planned pregnancy I am doing research like crazy on everything baby related. I have looked into a Moby Wrap and as a SAHM it seems like the best option for us but I'm a little worried about it actually working like it is supposed to. Has anyone used one? Did you like it and how long did your LO use it. I would like to wear baby as long as possible.
