We got the Cruz and it was our one big splurge (although we did get 20% off at Buy Buy Baby during a registry completion event, hooray!). It's still early days, but so far we are really happy with it and we're trying to use it as our only stroller.

We're using the adapter bar, which accommodates our Graco SnugRide car seat and basically turns the Cruz into a bulked-up Snap n Go. We're getting ready to switch to the regular seat soon, and we like that it can face us or outwards (this was a non-negotiable for DH).

The Cruz is not as easy to tote around as, say, the City Mini, but that might be because I'm under 5' and total weak sauce!

@Foodnerd81: Nope, it never occurred to me DD would fall out of the bassinet! I definitely carried it with two hands (one on the handle, one on the bottom for support) but that was more bc I'm out of shape, not for safety.

I did look at the vista since they are going to have more children, but since you can't recline the bottom seat I didn't want it.

It is only 2 stair, a landing, and then 4ish stairs. Not terrible. The baby is close to two, so she could get out and walk. Such a dilemma!

I really do not want to buy another lightweight stroller after ours died so fast. Again, if we didn't travel so much it would have been fine. Plus the side walks are kind of wonky in both areas where we live.

@mrsmate: So you felt OK carrying the bassinet up the stairs? You weren't worried LO would somehow fall out? That's my big fear. Also we have doors I'd have to open at the top and bottom of the stairs. I've been picturing myself just sitting on the first floor playing with my iphone to avoid waking the baby!

And yeah, my sister had a Bugaboo in NYC and an elevator building. It was great in the beginning because her son would always fall asleep on walks and you could just wheel him right in.

@Foodnerd81: When DD was smaller we'd just unclip the bassinet or toddler seat (yes, the toddler seat) and carry it up the stairs. My sister has the Vista too and lives in an elevator bldg in NYC, so she gets to wheel the whole thing in...it is awesome if you have that option.

Oh and I will add that we did actually go to the store to test out the Vista, Cruz and City Mini (which a lot of NYC'ers have as well) and my DH thought the Cruz was by far the best.

@mrsmate: We are in a second floor walk up too and will leave the stroller in the garage. Makes me sad because I can't wheel the baby into the apartment in the bassinet but I'll survive (first world problems).

@MamaMoose: I agree, I wouldn't be very happy hauling up our Vista everyday either. We live in a 2nd floor walkup and leave our Vista in the car.

How old in the child riding in it? I have an UB Vista and I agree with Mamamoose-- it's big, so if I was getting a stroller for an older baby and had to carry it up the stairs, I wouldn't get it and would opt for something lighter (but I agree-- EVERYONE in Boston has them!)

I never test drove the Cruz but I'm sure that would be better than a Vista in your situation. You might be able to get away with something even lighter though.

We registered for and just got the Cruz so I can't really review it yet, but we went with it because the Vista is a lot wider and wouldn't fit as well in our apartment. I've decided that we aren't going to fold it up when we're home, so the wideness factor is an issue. From the reviews I read on Amazon, both the Cruz and the Vista are amazing options so you really can't go wrong!

I have the Vista and love it. But if I was hauling that bad boy up a flight of stairs every day I don't think I'd be a happy camper! Have you checked out Quinny? I hear their strollers are super lightweight!

Last October the mom had me pick out a lightweight stroller and I went with a Combi. I really did like it but due to the constant travel the airline destroyed it. The parents have given me full control over picking out our next stroller. We already have a jogger and a Chicco stroller, but we hate that one because it is a tank. It seems like EVERYONE in Boston has an uppababy stroller. The vista offers every feature we want but I can't pull the trigger yet. We do have stairs, but I think it is lightweight enough that I won't hate my life. Thoughts?
