We have an electric (the one that looks like a mini fridge) and a Big Green Egg. We mostly do pork (butt, loin, sausage). But we also use it as a grill and make pork chops, chicken, sausage, steak and it's all amazing. We've also done brisket but it seems to be an art to buying a good brisket around here.

@Swurlygurl: We do it just on the grates. It can take awhile, but so worth it!

I bought DH one for his first father's day and we love it! It's one that looks like a mini fridge. He makes the best ribs and always makes up his own rub. We've also done pork shoulders, chickens, and turkey breasts. We just bought a brisket that I'm excited for as that's my favorite!

One tip that my brother taught us is that every time you're using the smoker, throw some brats or other sausage in there for a few hours. They're so good and totally transform the sausage!

We have a dream that one day we'll open up a brewery/smoke house. You know, when we win the lottery. :)

@jetsa: Do you just use the leftover charcoal/wood that's already in there, or do you add new stuff each time?

@swurlygurl: yep all the time. DH can have it ready to cook in 15 minutes and it keeps the heat out of the house! We use it all year long. The frozen pizzas he figured out at lunch bc he works from home

@swurlygurl: I hate walmart but they have really inexpensive brisket.

Let me know if you smoke anything good. DH is always looking for new stuff. He makes his own rubs and BBQ sauces :)

@MrsH: I want to do cheese sooo badly - I would probably eat too much cheese though... haha. I can see it becoming a new hobby for DH, an expensive one at that!

@KT326: Ooohhh salmon! That sounds amazing

@jetsa: Interesting! Although, I bet the smoker would make almost anything frozen taste better :) So do you use for just you two? It seems like a lot work to set up for a quick dinner, although I know you can use it as a grill too

@Rocker2014: Anxious to try chickens! Do you do it beer can style, or just laying down on the grates?

We've done ribs, pork shoulder, sausages, tri tip, brisket, and salmon. All have turned out delicious! (Though the pork shoulder has been my favorite so far!)

We have a big green egg and love it! Pizza is one of our favorites, my dh swears a frozen tombstone tastes so much better on it! Also brined turkeys are soo good on it as well.

Sidenote: This is such a hard thing to ask questions about, people automatically think of cigarette/cigar/weed smoking!! I was going to ask on FB "What do you guys like to smoke on the weekends?", but I doubt that would go the way I wanted it to... haha

DH and I went in on a ceramic smoker with the ILs over the weekend (Kamado Joe). What do you guys like to smoke?? We did some pork ribs this weekend for Father's Day that turned out deeelicious!

Really wanting to try: chicken, turkey and pizzas. Wondering if there is anything fun to smoke that I'm not thinking of? Cheese maybe?
