decided to get a macbook pro because i have to be able to run photoshop on it, and they recommended the pro over the air for it.

I love my MacBook Air, because it goes with me everywhere. I have an external hard drive for extra storage. I might eventually get a desktop to transfer photos to a place where I can see/edit them, but for my purposes, the MBA is awesome.

I love love love my MacBook Air. I have a Pro for work and can't stand it. We originally bought an Air for both DH and I and then we ended up loving it so much a year later we bought a second one to be mine and he kept the original. We have the smallest ones (11" I think). They have the portability of an iPad but the versatility of having a full scale capabilities and keyboard.

I have an Air and I like it alright. It's convenient to travel with because it's so light and small. However I don't like dealing with it as my primary computer. I filled it up really fast with photos and that's sort of annoying. It tends to crash when I'm working in Illustrator and InDesign, but maybe that's my individual computer not all Airs.

I was very close to getting a MBA, but ended up getting a Lenovo touch screen instead. It's the same size and I got it on sale so it was a lot cheaper. I really like the convenience of the touchscreen and I don't regret my decision at all. It has taken me some time to get use to the resolution (it's not as crisp as I like) but then again, I could have upgraded, but the price would have been more as well.

DH and I both have them and love them (I'm on my second) but I agree that it's not the right choice if you're super demanding on your machine. I recently gave up my MBP and DH has a 27" iMac for photo editing.

I had a macbook. I decided not to get the air because I wanted a cd drive. I love it. My mac was totally worth it. I have had it for two years thus far and still running smoothly. I'm hoping it lasts me the rest of my school years - at least another 3 years.

Have one and love it!!! I bought a cheap external disc drive for the few times I need a disc, and plug it into a monitor and keyboard at home so it can function like a desktop. It's awesome for travel-so light!

I love my MBA. It is built really well and so light (I have the 11"). Using a small screen did take some getting used to. For a long time I got a little frustrated with how little screen real estate I had. I also run out of storage pretty quickly. I tend to use it more as a "client" and I store documents on my server unless I'm traveling. The SSD makes it super fast though which is a big plus.

My sister has one that I used to edit my LOs birthday photos when we were down south visiting family. The interface is the same as our Macbook pro, it obviously doesn't have a disc drive, and is much thinner and lighter.

I guess it depends on what you use it for--we also recently got a Lenovo Yoga, which is cheaper but the same class--lightweight and good for travel--plus, it's a touch screen and the screen bends totally backward, so you can make it into a tablet type thing for watching movies on airplanes or in the car. And it's cheaper than the Air.

I have a regular MacBook and I love it. Its definitely heavier than the Air so I think you just have to look at your budget and see whats more important (speed versus size, etc).

Olive broke Mr. Bee's laptop :crying: and we need one when we're traveling next week.

Does anyone have a macbook air? Do you love it? I've never used a mac laptop, but my desktop is still going strong over 5 years later so I thought it was time to make the switch from a pc!
